October 2025 - Present at the Lugano Plan B Exhibition Center

This year was a true milestone for us — our first opportunity to present Bitcoin in the Wild at the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano. Sharing our mission with a community of passionate Bitcoiners, innovators, and changemakers was incredibly inspiring.

We showcased how Bitcoin can strengthen wildlife conservation by supporting education, anti-poaching initiatives, and community-led projects across Africa. Together with Street Cyber, we offered their Wildlife Designs as poster prints to raise funds for our conservation work. We were also honoured to present The Sovereign Mother from The Bitcoin Babies project in Kenya. And to top it off, every Bitcoin cuddly toy handcrafted by our co-founder Helen sold out completely.

The enthusiasm and support we received confirmed our belief in Bitcoin’s powerful real-world impact — for people, wildlife, and the planet.

October 2025 - First Bitcoin Sponsoring in support of Wildlife Education - 1,001,983 SATS

By integrating technology with hands-on learning, we demonstrate how Bitcoin can create real value for communities, wildlife, and the environment.

Through our Bitcoin Wildlife Conservation Fundraiser, we channel Bitcoin directly into meaningful conservation and education initiatives. Because Bitcoin donations come with low fees and fast settlement, your support reaches us efficiently and helps us act quickly where it’s needed most.

Early education. Safer wildlife. Stronger communities.

Powered by Bitcoin, we currently help students from the Bushbabies Education Project experience wildlife up close—often meeting elephants for the very first time. These encounters are eye-opening and deeply meaningful, helping students understand the ecological and cultural importance of elephants while fostering empathy and curiosity.

As they learn about elephant behavior, habitat challenges, and the impact of human actions, these young learners gain the knowledge and inspiration to become future stewards of their natural environment.

December 2024 - Onboarding Shops at Maseke Village in SA

With the incredible support of Luthando from Bitcoin Ekasi, we successfully onboarded three shops in Maseke Village to Bitcoin in December 2024, helping lay the foundation for a future circular economy connected to local education and conservation efforts.

To make Bitcoin accessible to everyone, we used a mix of wallets depending on each shop’s device and connectivity:

  • Blink Wallet

  • Machankura (SMS Bitcoin wallet) for feature phones

  • Wallet of Satoshi

This flexible setup ensured that whether someone had a smartphone, a basic “dumb phone,” or limited internet access, they could still participate in the Bitcoin economy.

June 2024 - Launch of The Black Mambas fundraiser

Together with Luthando from Bitcoin Ekasi, we visited the Black Mambas to learn about their work and share our experience with Bitcoin. Since the Mambas currently rely on traditional financial partners, they are not yet allowed to accept Bitcoin directly.

That’s why we accept Bitcoin donations on their behalf. All contributions to this fundraiser are kept in a self-custody wallet until the funds are needed for their projects.

Children in their communities often lack basic economic education, and through this initiative, we hope to make a meaningful difference for both the rangers and the next generation — empowering them with knowledge, opportunity, and financial resilience.

February 2024 - Setting up The Bitcoin for Wildlife Conservation Project at our Izindlovu Fund

Our journey began with a passion for protecting elephants and has evolved into a mission to strengthen wildlife conservation through innovation. Our Bitcoin for Wildlife initiative was born out of the belief that Bitcoin’s impact should extend beyond human welfare to include protecting animals and ecosystems. By helping projects embrace Bitcoin donations, we aim to innovate charitable giving, maximize efficiency, and create sustainable, long-term impacts for wildlife conservation worldwide.

We believe that Bitcoin can be beneficial for wildlife and nature conservation if organisations adopt the technology and get financial support from the Bitcoin community.

By embracing Bitcoin donations, you encourage innovation in charitable giving, ensuring sustainable conservation impacts for wildlife worldwide.

January 2024 - Adopting Bitcoin Conference Cape Town

As the Bitcoin technology is new and not always well understood, education and explanation is needed.  Therefore we worked together with Bitcoin Ekasi to get the wildlife organisations HERD Elephants, Transfrontier Africa, The Black Mambas and The BushBabies to the Adopting Bitcoin Conference in Cape-Town, South-Africa. We set up a GeyserFund Fundraiser and raised 1,850,295 SATS to cover the travel expenses for 3 team members of the Black Mambas rangers unit to attend the Bitcoin conference in Cape Town. Herd Elephants covered their own travel expenses. The entrance tickets were sponsored by Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town.

Their participation has enabled them to gain insights into adopting the Bitcoin technology for enhanced financial and transactional security within their local communities.
